This project will be implemented in municipality levels. It will be implemented in partnership with three women-led CBOs (Sahayatra Nepal, Ilam, Mai Jogmai Rural Municipality, Srijansheel Mahila Samaj Nepal, Tarkershwor Municipality, Kathmandu and Mahila Jagaran Samuha, Banepa Municipality, Kavre. This project intends to further strengthen the agency of women-led environmental CBOs to lobby and advocate on a campaign footing for inclusion of gender-just climate change adaptation and resilience building in municipality level policy and programmes. By linking women-led campaign to multi stakeholder platforms at municipality and federal levels, the project will build pressure on the municipality to take policy and programmatic measures to localize the Climate Change Policy and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). On the other hand, women-led CBOs will lead and facilitate these platforms in their respective municipalities. The platforms will facilitate dialogue among the diverse civil society and government stakeholders on the need for gender and climate responsive policies and plans and support the municipalities to develop and also implement the policies and plans. The result of this project will be localized of national climate change policy and NDCs through women-led campaign for gender.
